Terms of Service
**Effective:** 17 August 2026
**Version:** v1-2026-08-17
These terms are a contract between you and BeamTeam LLC, a Minnesota limited
liability company ("BeamTeam", "we", "us"). They govern your use of the BeamTeam
app and beam0.com.
By creating an account or booking a cut, you agree to them. If you do not agree,
do not use the service.

1. What BeamTeam is — and is not
BeamTeam is a **marketplace**. We connect customers with independent barbers who
travel to the customer, or who work from a venue they have arranged themselves.
**We do not cut hair.** Barbers on BeamTeam are independent professionals. They
are not our employees, agents, or partners. They set their own services, prices,
and hours, and they decide which jobs to accept. We do not supervise, direct, or
control how a barber performs their work.
This means the contract for the haircut itself is between **you and the barber**.
We provide the platform, take the payment, and handle the money movement.
2. Who can use it
You must be **18 or older** to hold an account. If you are under 18, you may not
use BeamTeam, and we will close any account we learn belongs to a minor.
You must give accurate information when you sign up, keep your password to
yourself, and tell us promptly if you think someone else has your account. You
are responsible for what happens under your account.
Barbers must additionally be legally permitted to provide barbering services
where they operate, including holding any licence their state or city requires.
**You are responsible for your own licensing, insurance, and taxes.** We do not
verify licences, and nothing in the app should be read as us doing so.
3. Booking
You choose a barber and a service and send a request. The barber accepts or
declines. A booking exists only once the barber **accepts** — until then nothing
is agreed and nothing is charged.
The price you see at the moment you book is the price we enforce on our servers.
A barber cannot raise it after you have booked. Optional extras you add during
the booking are shown before you confirm.
You agree to give an accurate address and to be present and reachable at the
time you booked. If you have added entry details — a door code, a front-desk
name — those are released to your barber only near the appointment time, and
only to the barber assigned to it.
4. Payment
Payments are processed by **Stripe**. We never see or store your full card
number.
When a booking is accepted, your card is authorised for the amount of the
booking. We capture it when the work is done. Some barbers accept payment in
person instead; where that is offered, the app says so before you book, and you
settle directly with the barber.
**Tips** are optional and go to the barber.
**Barbers:** we charge a platform commission of **15%** of the booking price.
The rest is paid out to you through your connected Stripe account, on Stripe's
standard payout schedule. You are responsible for your own income tax. We may
change the commission rate, but not for a booking already accepted, and we will
tell you before a change takes effect.
5. Cancellation and no-shows
**Cancelling.** You can cancel a booking in the app. **Cancellation is currently
free** — we do not charge a cancellation fee at this time. We may introduce one
later; if we do, the fee schedule will be shown in the app and take effect only
for bookings made after we publish it. We will not apply a fee retroactively.
**If you are not there.** A barber who has travelled to you may mark you as a
no-show, but only after waiting at least **15 minutes** past the booked time,
only if they have not chosen to hold the chair for you, and only with a written
explanation. Where that happens, **50% of the booking price is charged and paid
to the barber** to compensate them for the trip and the lost slot. No fee is
charged where there was no card on file, or where someone else was paying.
**If the barber does not turn up**, tell us. You are not charged for a service
you did not receive, and we will refund an authorised payment.
**Barbers:** cancelling accepted work repeatedly, or failing to appear, affects
your reliability metrics and can result in suspension.
6. Reviews, photos, and what is public
You may review a barber after a completed booking. Reviews must be honest and
about your actual experience.
Some things you do are **public**, and you should assume anyone can see them:
a review you leave (shown with your first name), a barber's profile, and — only
if you switch it on — your first name and initials on the profile of a barber
you have used. That setting is off unless you turn it on. Booking addresses are
never published.
If you upload a photo, or agree to a photo of your cut being shared, you give us
permission to store it and display it in the places the app describes. You keep
ownership of your photos. You can withdraw a photo through the app, and we will
stop displaying it.
Do not upload anything you do not have the right to upload, and do not upload
anything of another person without their agreement.
7. Things you may not do
- Harass, threaten, discriminate against, or endanger anyone.
- Arrange payment off-platform to avoid our commission, having found the person
through BeamTeam.
- Give a false address, a false identity, or false payment details.
- Post fake reviews, or reviews traded for anything of value.
- Try to break, overload, scrape, or reverse-engineer the service.
- Use BeamTeam for anything illegal.
We may suspend or close an account that does any of these, and we may do it
immediately where someone's safety is involved.
8. Safety
BeamTeam brings strangers to private addresses. Take the precautions you would
take for any such appointment.
The app has safety features, including a way to raise an alarm during a booking.
**These are not an emergency service.** They notify us and, where you have set
them up, your emergency contacts. In an emergency, call 911.
9. Disputes about a cut
If something goes wrong with a service, raise it in the app within **7 days**.
We will look at the booking, the messages, and any photos, and we can refund some
or all of the payment where that is warranted.
Because the haircut contract is between you and the barber, we act here as an
intermediary applying our own policy. That is not a legal judgment and does not
stop you pursuing any right you have against the barber directly.
10. No warranty
The service is provided **"as is"**. We do not promise that it will be
uninterrupted, error-free, or that any barber will meet your expectations. To the
extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness
for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant the skill, conduct, licensing, or insurance of any barber, or
the accuracy of anything a user writes about themselves.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows:
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or
for lost profits or lost data.
- Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the service is limited to
the greater of **the amount you paid through BeamTeam in the 6 months before
the claim**, or **100 USD**.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited — including for
death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for our own fraud.
Some states do not allow some of these exclusions, in which case they do not
apply to you.
12. Indemnity
If someone brings a claim against us because of something you did — your use of
the service, your breach of these terms, or, if you are a barber, the services
you provided — you agree to cover our reasonable costs and damages arising from
it.
13. Ending it
You can stop using BeamTeam and delete your account at any time, from
*Profile → Danger zone*.
We can suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if we are required to,
or if we stop operating the service. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will
tell you first. Money already owed to a barber for completed work is still paid.
Sections 10, 11, 12, and 14 survive the end of your account.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the **State of Minnesota**, without
regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes are subject to the exclusive
jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Minnesota, and you and we
each consent to that jurisdiction.
Nothing here removes a right you have under the consumer law of the place you
live, where that law says it cannot be removed.
15. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we will notify you
in the app or by email before it takes effect, and where the law requires it we
will ask you to accept the new version. Every version is kept with the date it
took effect. Continuing to use BeamTeam after a change means you accept it.
16. Everything else
If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies. Our
not enforcing something once does not waive it. You may not transfer your account
or these terms to someone else; we may transfer them to a successor if the
business is sold.
These terms, together with the [Privacy Policy](/privacy), are the whole
agreement between us about the service.
